Howard Newton

Howard has been coaching for over 15 years and is not only an experienced football coach but also a qualified teacher of Physical Education.

After leaving school Howard attended the P.A.C.E football academy along with Simon, this is where he was first introduced to coaching. After successfully completing a coaching course in 2000, Howard and Simon where chosen to spend the summer coaching football in America. They spent the summer traveling around the states running soccer camps for Britannia soccer. 

Howard spent a season at Hampton FC before deciding to further his education, attending the University of Luton to complete a BSc Honours degree in Coaching Studies.

On his return from university Howard joined up with Simon again to coach for onside football coaching. After a year or so Howard decided to go into education, working at Isleworth and Syon school as a mentor for a number of years. This then led to Howard training as a Teacher of Physical Education and taking on the role of Director of football.  

In the summer of 2015 Howard decided to re-join Simon and become a member of the Onside Football Coaching team, he is also currently working as a scout for Southampton.

Howard has also enjoyed a successful playing career in non league football. During his time at Staines, Howard received a call up to the Guyanese national team gaining 16 caps, playing in World Cup qualifiers, Caribbean Cup competitions, a highlight being a World cup qualifier vs Mexico in the famous Aztecca stadium. 

Simon Haughney

As a youngster Simon was a talented football player. He was identified at a young age and was picked up by Crystal Palace, where he spent 6 years before being released. Simon was selected to play  for Middlesex County, he went on to captain the team, where he played alongside the likes of Peter Crouch, Stephen Reid and Sam Parkin.

After dropping out of the academy set up Simon spent some time playing Non League football, making appearances for both Yeading and Staines Town under Steve Cordrey, before deciding to concentrate on his coaching business.

Simon, along with Howard attended the P.A.C.E Football Academy. Simon gained his FA coaching certificate and was given the opportunity to go and coach in the USA.  On his return from USA and completion of his BTEC National Diploma, Simon decided to set up a coaching company. He has since established himself as a excellent coach with over 15 years experience.

Simon, along with the help of Russell Clark has worked tirelessly to take HRBFC Youth from 5 teams to 25 teams. He has become a major figure within the local football community and continues to help develop youth football in the Hampton.
